Linguistics and English Language Postgraduate Conference 2025

4-6 June 2025, Edinburgh

The Linguistics and English Language Postgraduate Conference is an annual event hosted by the School of Philosophy, Psychology and Language Sciences at the University of Edinburgh, and is open to students and recent graduates from all over the world. With over 30 years of experience, the conference offers a great opportunity to refine thoughts, share concerns, and receive constructive criticism in a supportive and convivial environment.

All talks, workshops and social events are in person. No online/hybrid options available. All presentations are scheduled for 20 minutes, followed by 10-minute period for questions.

Call for Papers

Abstracts are welcome from any area of linguistics. They should be based on research completed during a postgraduate degree (you are still welcome to submit if your programme has now finished).

Abstracts should be uploaded as an anonymised pdf of no more than 500 words including examples. Titles, bibliography, and tables/figures will not count towards the word limit. Figures and tables are welcome but please ensure no more than 2 are included with your abstract. Please provide glossing for any examples not presented in (Present Day) English.

Talks will be 20 minutes + 10 minutes for questions
